REGULATIONS

1.The competition is opened to all the mandolin players of any nationality. The minimal age is of 16 years (participants who are 16 and 17 years old should have a parents’ authorisation).

2. The competition consists in the execution of a music piece of the compositions of Raffaele Calace and other free chosen music pieces from the original mandolin repertoire, for a maximum duration of 20 minutes.

3.All participants who will be admitted to the competition will have to arrive to Pignola within 2 p.m. of the 14^th of August 2006.

4.The competition will take place in the afternoon of the same day. The winners will be established by a jury of the organising committee, which composition will be approved by the Italian Mandolin Federation (FMI) .

5.The award ceremony will take place during the show that will be hold at the same evening in Pignola.

6. Prizes:

1^st prize: a mandolin “Calace”

2^nd prize:  Euro......

3^rd prize: Euro....

7. The three winners will have to exhibit live with a piece of the duration of approximately 10 minutes within an event of the “Estate Pignolese” .

8.The organising committee "Associazione Culturale IL FOCOLARE” will offer full accommodation for the day of the 10^th August 2006.

9. The application forms have to be sent by registered mail to the organising committee until 30^th June 2006 to:

10. The following documents have be sent enclosed to the application form:

-         a photocopy of an identity document

-         curriculum vitae

-         a directory of the music pieces that will be played

-         details of any prizes received, with documentation and certificates concerning to courses and studies followed, concert programs, critical reviews and any other relevant documents.

11. The examination of the documentation will be carried out by the Artistic Director.

12. The admission of the participants will take place upon the documentation sent. The number of participants is max. 10.

13.The admitted concurrent will have to send within 15 days from the communication of the admission, five copies (that will not be given back) of the music scores of each composition that he/she will play. If the scores will not be sent to the organising committee, the admitted participant will be excluded from the competition

14. The admitted contenders cannot withdraw from the competition (exceptional events excluded).

15. All the rounds and the final concert could be recorded. The participants in the competition herewith and permanently renounce any rights they may have as artists, musicians and/or any other entitlement in relation to the distribution of phonographic recordings and/or audiovisual tapes, as well as radio and television use and/or telematic network diffusion of the competition rounds and/or final concert. The participants acknowledge that any rights to the material indicated above belongs exclusively to the organization of the competition who can use it in any form and manner.

The organisation committee reserves itself the right to modify the rules of the competition. Every participant assumes the full responsibility of its exhibition.

16. For any controversy about the interpretation and the resolution of conflicts due to the application of the present regulations, as stated by articles n 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, the judicial place will be Potenza .

In case of any disagreement or difference of opinion concerning the rules, the only valid text will be the original in the Italian language.
