INTERNACIONAL MUSIC COURSES IN LA RIOJA
The VI International Guitar Course"City of Nájera" is mainly a pedagogic meeting around the Master JOSÉ LUÍS RODRIGO. Besides, it tends to be for guitar players not only a unique occasion to get musical advice from the Master but also to have some days of exchange , living together and learning from other participants’personal experiences.
It is organized by the local Cultural Association"Cuenca del Najerilla"
Every year the course is making progress with increasing attendance and new proposals on the part of the Organization. The organizers of this sixth course offer 20 guitarists the possibility to get a stipend which covers the accommodation costs
One of the general objectives of the course is to organize 4 guitar concerts offered by participants as usually in previous years in four different places in La Rioja around the city of Nájera.
The sponsorship of the GOVERNMENT OF LA RIOJA,MUNICIPALITYOF NAJERA and FOUNDATION CAJARIOJA with the collaboration of the University ofLa Rioja,Professional Conservatory of Rioja and Sociedad Artística Riojana is the basis for an optimistic vision towards the future with new proposals that complete the pedagogic work of the master José Luis Rodrigo.
On this VI Course we will have Analysis Master Lessons byJosé Manuel Fernández as well as Performance lessons on Bach’s plucked strings by Thomas Schmitt.
Each active guitar player will receive one particular lesson with a limited time fixed by the Master.
Each active or passive guitarist has the possibility of attending all educational proposals of the course in addition to other activities around the academic ones, such as concerts, cultural visits, etc.
The Master José Luis Rodrigowill also reserve some time for passive players so that theyhave a chance to ask him questions or to get direct advice about performance etc. from him.

For active participants there are 20 stipends available to cover the costs of stay. These stipends include free accommodation (single room for training) and food(breakfast, lunch, dinner) from the 29th March (dinner)to Sunday 3rd of April(lunch)

The organizers will decide about theaward of this stipend after examiningthe applications and curricula ofthe candidates, with the Master’s consulting and agreement.
Each guitarist who gets a stipendwill have to tell the organizers if he wants to change the times of arrival – departure(to come or to leave sooner or later than fixed)
All guitarists interested in the course will fill in the application form and senditwith a copy of the bank receipt for payment of the course feesprevious the 15th March 2005 to the address of the ‘ Asociación Cultural “Cuenca del Najerilla “.
Once received the applications, the guitar players will get information aboutthe award of the stipends and other details (about travelling, how to come etc.)

On the 30thof March, 1 of April and 2ndof April we will listen to guitar concerts thatwill be announced soon.On the 2ndApril we will have the Course Concert in Nájera. After the concerts the organizers invite to a celebration dinner in a typical Bodega (Wine cellar) of La Rioja

CONCEPTO
es principalmente un encuentro pedagógico alrededor del Maestro JOSÉ LUÍS RODRIGO. Pretende además ser para los guitarristas no solo la ocasión de recibir las orientaciones musicales del Maestro sino también vivirunosdías de intercambio, convivencia y conocimiento de todas las experiencias personales de los músicos que participan. Está organizado por la Asociación Cultural “ Cuenca del Najerilla “
Cada año el curso ha progresado tanto en asistencia como en nuevas propuestas por parte de la Organización y este sexto curso ofrece la posibilidad de becar la estancia completa a 20 músicos guitarristas.
Los cuatro conciertos que se programan son como otros años uno de los objetivos generales del curso : poder ofrecer conciertos de guitarra en diferentes localidades de la Rioja ofrecidos principalmente por los participantes.
El patrocinio del GOBIERNO DE LA RIOJA, AYUNTAMIENTO DE NAJERA y LA FUNDACIÓN CAJARIOJA con la colaboración de la Universidad de la Rioja, Conservatorio Profesional de la Rioja y Sociedad Artística Riojana nos hace pensar enuna continuidadilusionante del curso con nuevas propuestas que complementan la labor pedagógica del Maestro José Luís Rodrigo. Este VI curso tendremos las clases magistrales de Análisis impartidas por José Manuel Fernández y la clase de interpretación de la“ Música para cuerda pulsada en Bach “ que impartirá Thomas Schmitt.
Propuesta docente
Cada guitarrista activo recibirá una clase particular de tiempo limitado por el juicio del Maestro.
Cada guitarrista activo y oyente tiene la posibilidad de asistir a todas las propuestas docentes del curso además delas actividades que se programen alrededor de la docencia ( conciertos, visitas, etc…).
El MaestroJosé Luís Rodrigo determinaráun tiempo para que los guitarristas oyentes puedan pedirle orientación de lo que estimen oportuno.

Se establecen 20 becas para guitarristas activos.
Esta beca incluye : de la cena del 29de marzo a la comida del domingo 3 de abril, incluyendo en estos días el desayuno, comida, cena y habitación de estudio y dormir.

La concesión de becas de estanciaserá decisión de la Organización después de estudiar el currículo de los solicitantes yprevia consulta al Maestro.
Cada guitarrista becado deberá indicar a la Organización si altera de alguna forma su estancia ( venir o marchar antes o después de lo establecido )
Oferta de participación
Todos los guitarristas que deseen participar en el curso enviarán su solicitud de participación ( hoja de inscripción ) debidamente cumplimentadajunto al resguardo de pago de los derechos de curso antes del 15 de marzo del 2005 a la dirección de la Asociación Cultural “Cuenca del Najerilla “.
Una vez recibidas ambas cosas se comunicará lo antes posible la concesión de becaasí como detalles ( viajes, como llegar a Najera, etc…) a cada uno de los guitarristas becados.

Los dias 30 de marzo, 1 de abril y 2 de abril escucharemos conciertos de guitarra que se anunciarán próximamente. El dia 2 de abril será el concierto del Curso en Nájera y seguidamente la Organización ofrece la“ cena de invitación “ en una bodega típica riojana.
